OnePlus was the king in budget segment and we didn’t had any choice at 30-40K except OnePlus. But game is now changing as Asus has launched its flagship phone priced less then OnePlus. Asus is also a brand which is known for very good build quality and awesome user interface.
On papers both of these phones are similar in specification, hence taking decision is really a tough job. In all scenarios both phone performs edge to edge. I’ll explain all good and bad parts of these phones. I’ll make sure that you will decide your phone at the end of this post.
Model | Zenfone 5Z | OnePlus 6 |
Display | 6.2 Inch IPS LCD (18.7:9) Resolution: 1080 x 2246 pixels |
6.28 Inch AMOLED (19:9) Resolution: 1080 x 2280 pixels |
Both of these phone comes with similar size of display. Color and sunlight visibility is also almost same for these phone. Both of these displays have good viewing angles and saturated colours. Colours on OnePlus are little better as it comes with AMOLED panel. Curves at edges are more in Zenfone 5Z compare to Oneplus 6.
Model | Zenfone 5Z | OnePlus 6 |
Platform | Android 8.0 Oreo ZenUI 5.0 |
Android 8.1 Oreo Oxygen OS 5.1 |
Both of these flagship phones are running on latest version of Android i.e. Oreo. Both of these companies are offering OTA updates for next 2 Android versions, which is a very good point for every user. ZenUI comes with lot of optimization, however Oxygen OS will give you stock android experience. Here ZenUI is decision making factor, if you love to use customization like hide notch, switch between navigation keys, lock apps with face etc. If you love to have stock Android then you can choose any one of these phones.
Model | Zenfone 5z | One Plus 6 |
Platform |
Octa-core(4×2.7 GHz, 4×1.7 GHz) Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Adreno 630 |
Octa-core (4×2.7 GHz, 4×1.7 GHz) Qualcomm Snapdragon 845
Adreno 630
|
Processor unit on both of these phones is same i.e. Octa-core Snapdragon 845. Four core of these phones are clocked at 2.7 GHz, while remaining for are clocked at 1.7 GHz. Performance of these phones is almost similar. You can give any task that an Android can do, both of them will give you best performance. On performance point both phones are very much similar, so I’ll request to take action based on other features instead of getting worried about performance.
Model | Zenfone 5z | OnePlus 6 |

6 GB RAM, 128 GB storge

Both comes with similar options on storage and RAM basis. You can choose a phone according to your need, i.e. how much internal memory you need? 64, 128, 256 GB storage variants are available in these phones. If you need 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage, you have OnePlus as option. If 6 GB RAM is enough for you, you can go with Zenfone 5Z. Here Asus phone have advantage of hybrid slot to expand storage.
Model | Redmi 5A | 10.or D |

Dual Back (16 MP & 20 MP) Front 20 MP |
I’ll not ask you look at megapixels of these phones as both are capable of clicking very good images. Both phones can produce very good bokeh effects with back and front camera. Pictures clicked with back camera of these phones are almost similar in dalight. Coming to dark or low light photography, Asus Zenfone 5Z can click better images with back camera.
Selfie images clicked with both of these phones are very good, but OnePlus can click little better images. Low light selfie in OnePlus are little bit better compare to Zenfone 5Z.
Model | Zenfone 5Z | OnePlus 6 |
Battery and Connectivity | 3400 mAh Non-Removable Quick Charge 3.0 |
3300 mAh Non-Removable Dash Charging |
Both of these phone comes with similar capacity of battery, but practically Zenfone 5Z last longer. Best part of Zenfone 5Z is AI charging, which helps to improve life of battery. Phone will learn your charging behavior to charge your battery accordingly. If you have budget of 35K or above definitely Oneplus is a good option, but Asus is giving a lot for 30K only. Both of these phones are very good and you can go for any one.
